This selection of beautiful women dressed to impress at this year’s Emmys, proves that rocking the red (and purple) carpet is not just for the young.
1. Wanda Sykes
Wanda’s silky navy suit and statement hairdo glinted in the camera flashes as she bounced onto the purple carpet this week. A subtle lace-lined camisole provides comfort under a statement garment that oozes with class.
2. Catherine O’Hara
This blonde bombshell proved that slim fit wear isn’t just for the young. Her monochrome floor length gown flattered her figure, with the statement red lip pulling together an outfit for the ages. Catherine would appear to have used her red carpet moment to nod to her on-screen character, Moira Rose, who wears exclusively black and white on Schitt’s Creek. Referential or not, O’Hara’s mod gown by Greta Constantine is fabulous in its own right.
3. Lisa Kudrow
The former Friends star went full ‘power woman’ at this year’s Emmys, rocking a powder pink Ingie Paris tuxedo, lined with a black lapel. Wide leg trousers gave a relaxed feel to what was a mature and slightly preppy look.
4. Sharon Osborne
Sharon’s classic black dress hugged her figure nicely, with a statement metallic detailing at the neckline adding a splash of flare to this classic ensemble. It wouldn’t be a Sharon-worthy outfit without a little quirkiness after all.
5. Patricia Clarkson
Patricia Clarkson rocked up to the 71st Emmy awards in a glistening maroon gown, complete with flared sleeves that the queen of boho herself, Stevie Nicks, would envy. Her off-the-shoulder show-stopper was a worthy garment for the actress, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in HBO’s Sharp Objects. Her bright smile completes the outfit — the true meaning of fabulous.
