A quick and easy way to elevate your street style game is to top off your look with the perfect jacket.
This week we have two ladies who are wearing very different day looks, but the thing they have in common is their street style jacket power.
Laurie
First we have Laurie from @vanityandme. She describes her style as ‘modern country chic’. Laurie is wearing a really pretty light and breezy floral maxi-dress. This is the kind of dress that’s always a worthwhile buy, because of course it works for summer, taking you through BBQ, garden party and al fresco drinks season. But as we can see on Laurie, when paired with heeled knee-high boots, it also becomes a great choice for milder winter days too. But what gives this look the edge is the leather biker – another really worthwhile investment piece.
Laurie explains, “My dress is from Massimo Dutti, the leather jacket is All Saints and the boots are Next – a fabulous find.”

Next we have Lee from @idealee.style who describes her style as ‘casual city chic’. She’s gone for the opposite look, instead of a dressy style given a wearable edge with a leather jacket, Lee has gone casual – then used a smart blazer to elevate the look. We love a looser fit high-waist jean style – just look how flattering they can be. And paired with a funky t-shirt and chunky boots – this is a very cool look. Then, of course, the addition of the navy jacket with the gold buttons takes Lee’s street style to another level.
Lee says, “The jeans are Zara, shoes are from Steve Madden and the bag is Badgley Mischka.”
